Patrick Moore

Patrick Moore earned a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of British Columbia, and is currently Chairman of Ecology, Energy and Prosperity with Canada’s Frontier Centre for Public Policy. As a co-founder and former long-time leader of Greenpeace, the world’s largest environmental activist organization, Dr. Moore has been a leading scholar in the international environmental field for over 40 years. His numerous publications include “Confessions of a Greenpeace Dropout: The Making of a Sensible Environmentalist“, and “Trees are the Answer“, a book that explains how forests can be a major component in solving current environmental problems. Dr. Moore currently chairs the Allow Golden Rice Society, a non-profit group he co-founded that advocates for golden rice to be commercially grown in order to improve the health of children around the world. Also, he continues to work with Ecosense Environmental, Inc. as an independent scientist. In 2014, at the Ninth International Conference on Climate Change, Patrick Moore was presented with the Speaks Truth to Power Award.
